Over 400,000 students and more than 15,000 organizations have experienced iFLY STEM. Students can now virtually learn how iFLY uses science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) in the design and operation of our vertical wind tunnels. They will also explore the physics of indoor and outdoor skydiving at grade appropriate levels, aligned with state and national standards and led by a live certified STEM educator. Students can participate from either a classroom or their own home.

The Most Enriching Virtual Learning Experience Ever

Your students will get fired up about math and science when they see it come to life in a state-of-the-art wind tunnel. Our highly trained STEM educators virtually guide students through an immersive, hands-on experience that consists of:

An interactive presentation on real-world STEM applications led by STEM Educator.
Lab activity and immersive experiments (based on grade level).
Physics demonstrations in the wind tunnel.
One-on-one flying with a certified world-class iFLY flight instructor.

It’s so much more than a lesson — it’s an enriching day of fun and learning that they’ll remember the rest of their lives!

PROGRAM FORMAT

Meet & Greet

The educator introduces themselves to the students, explains their background and sets the goals of the learning experience.

Lab Activity Walk Through

Lab Activity Walk Through

The Educator will walk students through a hands-on investigation where each student will practice science process skills such as measurement and analyzing data. The activity is completed either individually at home or together in a group setting after the virtual class.

Interactive Presentation

Interactive Presentation

The educator introduces the science, engineering, and math concepts involved with flying in vertical wind tunnels and skydiving. Students participate and interact with the educator for a rich, interactive experience. Our curriculum aligns with both national and state-specific science and math standards.

Physics Demonstration

Physics Demonstration

During the demo, educators use a series of video clips from one of our wind tunnels to reinforce concepts discussed during the virtual lesson. Students will be asked to make predictions about how things will fly based on physical attributes like size, mass and shape.

Wrap Up

Wrap Up

The educator reviews STEM trends, careers and answers any outstanding student questions.
